Tewkesbury Abbey pipe and tabor

Tewkesbury Abbey hurdy gurdy

On Saturday October 15th, the Medieval group Waytes & Measures, from Gloucestershire, will be hosting a day of medieval music in the lovely old town of Tewkesbury

Players of all levels and with appropriate instruments are invited to attend for a day of enlightenment, instruction and music making. There will be talks and workshops on various aspects of medieval music but the focus of the day will be the musicians themselves, working in ad hoc groups to share ideas and play together.

For the purposes of the workshop and concert, Waytes & Measures define the term ‘Medieval Music’ as music up to the time of Henry VIII, but not beyond. In the evening, the participants will give a public concert in Holy Trinity Church Hall, 10 Oldbury Rd, Tewkesbury GL20 5NA. Members of the public will be invited to attend this concert at an admission charge of £5 per head.
