Skeldergate Waites, York: 1734

On August 16th 1734, the Skeldergate Waites played at the York Assembly Rooms, their payment recorded in the Assembly Rooms account book, mentioned in my Leeds Waits history. Skeldergate is a major street on the south-west side of the River Ouse in York. As we have various groups under London on the Where Waits? page, do you think for completeness we should have two groups under York, namely “City of York” and “Skeldergate”?
