We are delighted to announce that the 6th International Festival of Town Pipers will take place in Gloucester, UK on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 12th, 13th and 14th September 2014. Gloucester is a splendid historic city with a beautiful cathedral and numerous ancient churches and other historic buildings, and Simon Pickard of the Gloucester Waits has already forged strong links with the cathedral authorities and the local representatives of the Heritage Open Days, with which the festival is arranged to coincide, so this promises to be yet another thoroughly successful and enjoyable festival.

"Of all musical sounds that from day to day smote the ears of a sixteenth-century town resident, the deafening skirl of the shawm band in palace courtyard or market square must have been the most familiar" Anthony Baines | |
